This class is intended for purebred dogs groomed primarily with scissors in accordance with the official breed standard. Evaluation focuses on scissoring technique, symmetry, balance, coat finish, and the ability to accurately reproduce the characteristic outline and expression of the breed. The use of clippers is allowed only where permitted by the breed standard.

The EGA Master Class Exam is an advanced-level examination for professional groomers at the highest level. The exam is conducted under competition conditions and is designed to evaluate technical precision, consistency, handling control, and professional execution of grooming techniques. Assessment is based on EGA judging criteria including quality of finish, safety, and professional handling of the dog.
